Description

As a Landscape Architect / Project Manager with Ironwood, you’ll play a crucial role in leading projects from conceptualization to completion, ensuring both design integrity and adherence to budget and schedule. You’ll manage client and team communications, guide junior staff, and ensure that all design deliverables meet Ironwood’s high standards of quality and detail.

We seek a highly motivated Landscape Architect / Project Manager to join our growing firm in our Nashville office.

Landscape architecture is both an art and a science—an exterior realization of a concept. Ironwood Design Group understands and applies timeless design principles to every project. Our experienced team honors the aesthetics of pioneering thinkers while embracing innovation. We strive to enhance the spirit of every project and maintain the integrity of every installation. Ironwood Design Group values design theory, tradition, discernment, and innovation above all else. Every installation begins with our four proven design principles: form, experience, visualization, and movement.

We represent over 70 years of experience in Landscape Architecture and Land Planning. Our practice covers the following areas: Corporate and Commercial Environments, Residential Communities, Streetscapes and Public Spaces, Parks and Recreation, Hospitality and Resorts, and Therapeutic Gardens.

Our efforts also extend to solution-based services such as Conservation and LEED Design, Green Infrastructure, Master Planning, Reclamation, Urban Design, and Project Management. Ironwood Design Group is affiliated with national and local organizations, including ASLA, the Atlanta Apartment Association, USGBC, and ULI.

Key responsibilities:

  • Project Vision & Documentation: Translate conceptual project vision into detailed construction documents, adhering closely to Ironwood’s standards of quality and precision.
  • Client & Consultant Coordination: Lead meetings with clients and consultants, fostering smooth coordination across the team.
  • Scope & Budget Management: Ensure design aligns with the contracted scope and budget hours. Oversee production to maintain budget control and draft additional service agreements when necessary.
  • Scheduling & Budgeting: Use project management software to track project timelines and ensure projects are completed within budgeted hours.
  • Invoicing Support: Collaborate with accounting to prepare and review invoices, ensuring accurate and timely billing.
  • Project Tracking: Record and distribute meeting minutes, tracking action items, next steps, and designated responsibilities.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct QA/QC checks, ensuring all deliverables meet Ironwood’s rigorous standards.
  • Sustainable Site Design: Develop planning and site designs that reflect Ironwood’s dedication to sustainability and environmental responsibility.
  • Site Analysis: Perform site surveys, assessing existing conditions and conducting field measurements.
  • Design Across Scales: Conceptualize across diverse project types and scales, from master-planned communities to urban sites.
  • Detailed Documentation: Prepare comprehensive contract documents, including details, sections, elevations, and schedules, as well as amendments, addenda, and bulletins.
  • Technical Adaptation: Develop adaptations and technical alternatives for project team review.
  • Team Leadership: Mentor junior staff, overseeing their work quality and development to meet Ironwood’s standards.
  • Software Proficiency: Apply design software to develop and present design concepts effectively.
