Born and raised a Bulldog, Josh received his bachelor’s degree in landscape architecture from Mississippi State University, where he also pursued a minor in fine arts. From a father who taught him to draw and a mother with a passion for plants and gardening, it was only fitting that Josh eventually chose Landscape Architecture as his profession.
Josh brings over 22 years of experience in the design and development industries to the Ironwood leadership group. In 2001, Josh started his career at a design-build firm in Atlanta, where he learned the importance of detailed design and its impact on the built environment. He later gained valuable land development and construction management experience with one of Georgia’s largest homebuilders. There he supported the land acquisition and construction teams through site due diligence and land planning efforts. He was ultimately responsible for the design and construction management of all community amenities. In 2013, Josh moved to Nashville to join a multi-disciplinary firm where he led the day-to-day efforts of an award-winning landscape architecture studio. Ten years later, Josh’s portfolio in Nashville includes a variety of project scales, including large mixed-use developments, urban multi-family communities, private residential estates, and most recently, a farm-focused resort near Franklin, TN.
Outside of the office, Josh spends time with his wife of nearly twenty years, Erin, and their two dogs. He has a passion for photographing animals and people and is active in animal advocacy, serving on the board for Cows Come Home, an animal sanctuary near Knoxville, TN.
