Landscape Architect – Project Manager

Ironwood Design Group is seeking a highly motivated Landscape Designer or Landscape Architect to join our growing firm in Atlanta and Nashville.

As a Landscape Architect / Project Manager on the Ironwood team, you will:

  • Deliver conceptual project vision by ensuring construction documents are completed to the highest level of detail.
  • Participate in project meetings with clients and consultants for coordination.
  • Keep and distribute meeting minutes to track action items, next steps, and responsible parties.
  • Utilize project management software to keep projects on schedule and produced within the budgeted hours.
  • Communicate project schedules with the Studio Director to ensure your projects meet deadlines.
  • Supervise junior staff to ensure they execute assigned tasks to the highest level.
  • Provide QA / QC on projects.
  • Prepare planning and site design consistent with Ironwoods’ commitment to sustainable design.
  • Performs site analysis, including a survey of existing conditions and field measurements.
  • Ability to conceptualize across a broad range of scales and project types, from master planned communities to urban environments at a planning level and detailed site design level.
  • Ensures tasks are completed according to Ironwood’s standards.
  • Prepares contract documents, including details, sections, elevations, and schedules.
  • Produces amendments, addenda, and bulletins.
  • Assists in preparing adaptions and technical alternatives for project team review.
  • Collaborate with and assist junior staff in the completion of projects.
  • Utilize your skills in design application software

Skills Required:

  • A professional degree in Landscape Architecture or a related field.
  • 2-7+ years of experience.
  • Strong work ethic and desire to learn new skills in support of a growing planning and urban design practice.
  • Strong conceptual thinking with an ability to communicate ideas both graphically and verbally.
  • Strong proficiency with CAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office Suites required.
  • ArcGIS, Rhino, and Lumion are a plus.
  • Strong hand graphics & rendering skills are a must.
  • Design and technical experience at a consistently high level of accomplishment.
  • Experience managing all phases of a project.
  • Effective interpersonal communication skills, verbal, listening, and writing, including client presentation skills.
  • Problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and motivation to learn.
  • Collaborative and professional work ethic.
  • Ability to manage and coach junior staff.
  • Professional Licensure is preferential but not required.

Education Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture or related field.
