Nestled on the eastern slopes of Lake McIntosh, The Retreat is a unique community developed by Ironwood Design Group. As the lead land planner, Ironwood crafted a vision for a community integrated within Peachtree City’s renowned regional green space network. Positioned sixty feet above the water level of Lake McIntosh, The Retreat offers some of the most impressive natural views in Fayette County. Although Peachtree City was established in the early 1960s, this land area remained undeveloped, preserving its wildness and maturity and creating a unique opportunity for a new kind of living space.

Approach

Ironwood Design Group’s approach to The Retreat blended architectural grandeur with modern design to create an iconic community entrance. The design merges the European charm of a motor court with the clean lines of multi-family homes, townhomes, and cottage homes, creating a harmonious balance between old-world elegance and contemporary sophistication.

The Retreat community fully embraces Peachtree City’s motto, “Plan to Stay,” by advocating a lifestyle that minimizes reliance on automobiles.
