Sam’s journey in landscape architecture began with his childhood passion for the outdoors and a deep curiosity about plants. This passion led him to earn a B.S. in Horticulture Science from the University of Florida, where he also gained practical experience in landscape installation.
After college, Sam quickly advanced to an installation crew supervisor, refining his expertise in plant knowledge and landscape design principles. His exceptional eye for detail and comprehensive understanding of natural landscapes propelled him into the realm of landscape architecture.
In 2014, Sam co-founded Ironwood Design Group with Erik. As a principal architect, he skillfully oversees the company’s operations, master planning, and landscape design, bringing creativity and practicality to each project.
Living in North Atlanta with his family, Sam’s love for nature extends beyond work. He enjoys fly fishing, hiking, camping, golfing, and tending to his home garden, embodying the essence of the landscapes he creates.
