Radius Cheshire Bridge Remodel

Group wanted to entice people to slow down and breathe.

Visionaries, Erik Jarkins and Sam Sampson wanted the renovation to be an internal and external experience. While the original concept for the lobby and amenity was for the materials to be the same, what came to fruition was a redefined pool area that was broken into pieces and reformatted into sections.

“It was really to modernize and bring the property up to date,” explained Jarkins, Principal of Design and Planning. With this renovation being the first renovation for the location, the pioneering Ironwood Design Group wanted to give the area new life with distinct additions such as rock fixtures and subtleties, like Creeping Jenny, snaking around various areas of the landscape making big impacts with color and texture.

A beer garden feature was added, street-side, to relate the landscape more to the energy of the surrounding Atlanta neighborhood. With the stationed taco stand across the street, Ironwood Design Group pulled Atlanta into the Radius Cheshire Bridge by connecting the landscaped beer garden to one of its best matches ever! Residents can grab a taco and enjoy a cold beer right on their own property.

The more “resort-style” upgrades included ambiance additives such as water jets in the pool and vibrant colors to mask and distract from the hustle and bustle of the city a few feet away.

“We wanted people to feel (as though) they’re going to the club pool rather than the old apartment pool,” added Jarkins. “It’s (meant to be) a destination retreat from the apartment life.” Residents will enjoy the retreat from everyday life and almost forget that their destination vacation is right in their own backyard.
